Emily Lema

A New Orleans native, Emily graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 2019, where she double-majored in accounting and finance. Following graduation, Emily joined the team at Carr, Riggs, & Ingram (CRI) where she works as an auditor with a variety of clients from commercial, government, healthcare, insurance, and financial institutions.

As a student, Emily worked with the Pan-American Life Student Success Center as a supplemental instruction leader, leading twice-weekly supplemental instruction sessions for accounting. Additionally, she worked with the Vice President and Senior Operations Analyst Supervisor on various business lines by conducting research, compiling data, and even developing a calculation template for the global business department. Emily was also the Director of Ritual for Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, a mentor for the Ignatian Colloquium, and served as a volunteer for the Loyola Wage Clinic. A highlight of her service was being selected from over 100 applicants to represent Loyola University New Orleans and the United States of America in Kingston, Jamaica during 2018 to work with disabled elderly in nursing homes.

Outside of the professional arena, this coffee enthusiast enjoys playing piano and the saxophone. While her current focus is studying for the CPA Exam, she also hopes to make time for opportunities to perform as a musician. When asked to describe herself in three words, Emily chose pensive, curious, and happy. A key skill she believes everyone should have is the ability to be compassionate. Emily draws motivation from her colleagues by observing them conduct themselves with grace and integrity and aspires to be more like them as she grows professionally.
