Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance
Selma Izadi earned her PhD in the field of Financial Economics from the University of New Orleans. Her dissertation includes two essays in portfolio management and hedging effectiveness in commodity and stock markets, as well as determining the local and international factors that affect Sovereign bond spreads in Global Developed Countries.
Dr. Izadi has a bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics and she earned a MBA in Finance from Alzahra University, Tehran. She has more than 6 years of progressive work experience in the Tehran stock exchange as a broker and investment analyst. During this period she applied appropriate principles of valuation for major financial assets and securities and engaged in research to evaluate if investment and financial policies maximized firm value.
Since 2009 Dr. Izadi has taught several university courses in Finance and Economics. She also has experience teaching online and hybrid classes. Her research interests include investment, financial markets and institutions, international finance and portfolio management. She has published two college mathematics text books for entrance examinations into Iranian universities as well as two journal publications in the field of Corporate Finance and Investment. Dr. Izadi has presented at several conferences, including the South West Finance Association, and is currently working on publishing her dissertations essays.
