Student Opportunities

A key benefit for our students studying the music industry is the practical experience obtained while in New Orleans.  Our students are able to have a wide range of meaningful work experiences, as opposed to making coffee, sending FAX memos, picking up dry cleaning, etc. that are often the common tasks of internships elsewhere.  Our students can and often do work for such endeavors as:

  • Jazz Fest
  • Essence
  • French Quarter Fest
  • VooDoo Fest
  • Tipitina’s Foundation
  • House of Blues
  • Howlin’ Wolf
  • The Republic
  • The Recording Academy
  • Basin Street Records
  • New Orleans Jazz Orchestra
  • Preservation Hall
  • Music Shed Recording Studios
  • and many more.

The Business of Music Program can prepare graduates for entry into highly lucrative and fruitful careers in the entertainment industry. Among those occupations are:

  • Venue Owner/Manager
  • Personal Manager
  • Business Manager
  • Entertainment Attorney
  • Banker
  • Label Owner/Founder
  • Accountant
  • Booking Agent
  • Publicist
  • Promoter
  • Tour Manager
