Internships

Click here to see why Paul chose Loyola's College of Business

Because some experiences are impossible to gain in the traditional classroom setting, the College of Business requires students to perform an internship in order to gain relevant career-related experiences, reinforce classroom study through a comparison of theory and practice, and pursue the study of specialized business topics in their field of interest in a professional setting.

Although most internships take place in the summer, many students complete them during the fall and spring semesters in New Orleans. Work sites vary from Fortune 500 companies to small, family-owned businesses to not-for-profit organizations both in New Orleans and around the country.

In the junior or senior year, students must spend between 120 and 150 hours at a job site and regularly interact with an academic supervisor. Many internships develop into permanent employment.
