Bill Locander Named Dean of the College of Business
Dr. William Locander , the Davis Chair of Leadership Studies and founding director of the Davis Leadership Center at Jacksonville University , has received appointment to the position of Dean of the Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans.
Before founding the Davis Leadership Center in 2004, Locander was the Chairman of the Department of Marketing and the Frank Harvey Professor of Marketing and Quality at the University of South Florida . From 1983 to 1992 he held the Distinguished Professorship in Marketing at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He has also served as Chair of the Marketing Department and Associate Dean of the College of Business at the University of Houston . Locander received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois , Urbana-Champaign.
Locander has authored articles in a number of prestigious journals including the Journal of Marketing , Journal of Marketing Research , Journal of the American Statistical Association , and the Journal of Consumer Research . He has served as national president of the American Marketing Association, and as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Dr. Locander has spoken and consulted in the areas of leadership, organizational change, marketing, total quality, strategic planning, and customer satisfaction with companies such as General Electric , IBM , Chevron , 3M , Procter & Gamble , American Brands , Inchcape Shipping Services , and Sea Star Lines .
