Alumni Link Up For Golf Tourney/ Baseball Weekend

Loyola alumni hit the links and the playing field to support Wolfpack athletics on the weekend of April 12. A total of 80 golfers participated in the Annual Wolfpack Athletics Golf Tournament at Bayou Barriere Golf Course in Belle Chasse. The tournament, scheduled in conjunction with Baseball Alumni Weekend, attracted alumni, friends, and family of Wolfpack Athletics.

Later that day, more than 50 former Loyola baseball players and their guests ventured Uptown to Bruno's Bar for a cocktail party. At the party, players shared old stories and memories of past Wolfpack glory late into the night.

The following morning, former Wolfpack baseball players took the field at Barrow Stadium in the Fifth Annual Baseball Alumni Game. The white team prevailed over the maroon team 14 -8. Former Wolfpack stars Scott Gremillion, B'01, and Fletcher Mackel, A'98, were named the game's co-MVPs. Bobby Gravolet, B'98, and Jeff Mills, A'96, were honored for their pitching performances. Mickey Gallagher, A'93, and celebrity guest Joe Trahan, A'90, received awards for their exceptional glove work, and Frank Tiriolo, B'01, won the "Furthest from Home" award, traveling from Connecticut to attend the festivities.
