CBA Welcomes New FacultyThe College of Business Administration welcomed five new faculty members to campus in the 2003 - 04 academic year. They are Miguel Caldas, Kirsten Daniel, Michelle Johnston, Kendra Reed, and Chandra Schorg. Miguel Caldas is the Gerald N. Gaston Eminent Scholar Chair in International Business. He earned his Ph.D. from Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), São Paulo, Brazil. His prior appointments were six years at FGV and 10 years at Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing in São Paulo, Brazil. He also has worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Andersen Business Consulting, and Coopers & Lybrand Consulting. Kirsten Daniel is an assistant professor of economics. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham (UK). Prior positions include a two-year term contract faculty position at Loyola, one year as a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and three years as a lecturer at the University of Birmingham. Her principal areas of teaching responsibility are principles of economics, intermediate theory, and labor economics. Michelle Johnston, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of management. For the past four years, she held an appointment as a term contract faculty member at Loyola. Her principal area of teaching responsibility is business communications. She has served as a consultant to Pan American Life Insurance Company, Pfizer, Peter A. Mayer Advertising, Entergy Corporation, and PJ’s Coffee. Kendra Reed is a visiting assistant professor of management. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her prior positions include two years as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and one year as a visiting assistant professor at Syracuse University. Her principal areas of teaching are human resource management and organizational behavior. Chandra Schorg is an assistant professor of accounting. She earned her M.B.A. from Texas Woman’s University and is a certified public accountant. She has taught at Loyola as a visiting assistant professor and spent 13 years at Texas Woman’s University. Schorg’s principal areas of responsibility are teaching undergraduate accounting courses, advising students, and working with student organizations. Return to the Loyola Business
