Two Spring Speakers Coming to CampusThis spring, the College of Business Administration will host two prominent lecturers as part of a speaker series on economics and business ethics. The Rev. James V. Schall, S.J., will discuss "The Most Terrible Virtue: On the Natural Limits of Justice" on Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at 7 p.m., in Miller Hall, Room 114. He will address the subject of justice as one of the four classical moral virtues. This concept of justice will be related to modern issues and circumstances. Schall’s work in the areas of philosophy, politics, and natural law shows the link between the political and religious thinking of modern times, and his many varied interests serve to reflect his devotion to academic as well as spiritual arenas. A Roman Catholic priest since 1963, he has written numerous academic articles and books. The second lecture will be "Doing Well and Doing Good: Business as Christian Vocation," by the Rev. Richard John Neuhaus on Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at 7 p.m., in Miller Hall, Room 114. Neuhaus is considered one of the foremost authorities on the role of religion in the contemporary world. He is president of the Institute on Religious and Public Life and is editor-in-chief of the institute’s publication, First Things: A Monthly Journal of Religion and Public Life. He has authored numerous books including his most recent book, As I Lay Dying: Meditations Upon Returning. Neuhaus was ordained in 1991 and has received numerous honors including the John Paul II Award for Religious Freedom. A U.S. News & World Report survey named him one of the 32 "most influential intellectuals in America." Return to the Loyola Business
