Code of Ethics

Employees  and agents of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, including volunteers and fee counselors, will understand and comply with Louisiana SBDC's Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, including conflicts of interest, client confidentiality and applicable host university requirements.

The Louisiana SBDC aims to prevent an occurence of any situation in which regard for private interest or gain leads to or has the potential to lead to a disregard of the needs of the Small Business Development Center or the rights of its clients.

The Louisiana SBDC is organized to provide entrepreneurial assistance and economic development activities for small businesses and to this end, the Louisiana SBDC

• promotes high standards of conduct
• communicates those standards to the public;
• employs individuals of demonstrated competence who have agreed to uphold the Louisiana SBDC's standards.

In order to mantain the integrity of the program and to protect employees and clients, the Conflict of Interest Policy is enforced. All agents of the SBDC, including employees, students, counselors, and volunteers must sign the Conflict of Interest Agreement when they join, become employed by or are contracted by the SBDC.

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) operates in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration under Cooperative Agreement 7-603001-0019-23 and the Louisiana Department of Economic Development.  The support given by the U.S. Small Business Administration through such funding does not constitute an expressed or implied endorsement of the co-sponsor(s) or participants’ opinions, products or services.
