MBA Students Present Team Project Plans at PMI Banquet

Loyola MBA students showcase team project plans for the Project Management Institute

Loyola MBA students had an opportunity to showcase team project plans for the Project Management Institute(PMI) Greater New Orleans Chapter the monthly PMI banquet. The team project plans were a direct output from the MBA Program's elective course offering of Project Management.

During the banquet, several local PMI members noted their sheer astonishment for the amount of material the MBA students were able to digest and implement in the team project plans. The team project plans presented by the Loyola MBA students were complete start-to-finish project plans that ranged from an entrepreneurial seafood venture to developing a highly technical process measurement tool for a local corporation.

Aside from providing students the opportunity to acquire highly integrated management skills, the Project Management course also prepares students to sit for the PMP or CAPM certifications issued by the Project Management Institute.

The course was instructed by Darryl Moore PMP, PMI-RMP (MBA '76). Darryl led the students through the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide and applied many experiences from his own professional career with DM Petroleum Operations Company and Shell Oil Company.
