Julie McDonald Quick

For the past 9 years, Julie has worked for Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) on the Entergy account as a Customer Service Manager and a Project Portfolio Manager for various Entergy business units. SAIC is Entergy’s primary provider of Information Technology services. SAIC, with annual revenue of $10.6 billion, operates around the world and has over 40,000 employees. In the capacity of Customer Service Manager, her responsibilities include maintaining and improving customer satisfaction, managing to financial targets, increasing revenues and ensuring that Service Level Agreements are met. One of the biggest challenges is balancing the daily tactical issues with the strategic issues that will ultimately ensure SAIC's long term success on the account. As a Project Portfolio Manager, Julie is responsible for the successful delivery of an annual IT Infrastructure project portfolio valued at approximately $30M. Prior to joining SAIC, Julie was employed by Entergy Corporation as a Project Manager for the Distribution/ Customer Care business unit with responsibility for IT strategic planning.

In addition to utilities experience, Julie also has IT experience in the healthcare industry. Julie was the Director of Technical Services at Ochsner Medical Foundation for about 3 years when Ochsner made the decision to outsource its IT infrastructure support to Systems Management Specialists, who eventually was purchased by Marconi. Systems Management Specialists was a privately owned IT outsourcing company based in Orange County, CA. Marconi was an international corporation based in London, England, whose primary business was broadband networking, but later expanded into other areas including IT outsourcing and managed services. As an employee of SMS/Marconi, Julie worked on the Ochsner account for several years and eventually assumed account & project management roles for a variety of other customers, including CBS/Viacom, Media.net, Farmland Insurance, and Sabreliner.

Julie attended Loyola University in New Orleans, LA, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration. She was a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority.

Julie earned her Master of Business Administration from Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business in New Orleans, LA, while working full-time at Lykes Bros. Steamship, which is where she began her Information Technology career as a systems programmer before moving into IT management. Julie worked at Lykes for 9 years.

Some major lessons that she learned over the span of her career include:

1) Listen to the customer
2) Always look for better, more creative ways of doing things
3) Get involved - Be a "do-er"

Outside of work, her hobbies include tennis, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys giving back to her community by doing volunteer work.
