Michael Plaisance

Michael J. Plaisance is an attorney for Entergy Services, Inc. in the Regulatory Legal group.  Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Through its electric utility subsidiaries Entergy delivers electricity to 2.8 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas and has annual revenues of more than $11 billion. Michael primarily practices before the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the New Orleans City Council on behalf of various subsidiaries of Entergy Corporation regarding filings involving territorial disputes, resource procurements, asset acquisitions, new energy technologies such as Smart Grid, as well as formula rate plans and other base rate proceedings.

After graduating from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in English, Michael worked as a Gas Accountant for Engage Energy and El Paso Merchant Energy in Houston, TX before becoming a Real Time Power Trader for BP Energy Company. At BP, Michael worked on the next-day and real-time west trading desks and then transitioned to BP’s Texas real-time trading desk.

Michael returned to New Orleans to attend Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where he was the President of Trial Advocacy and a coach for Loyola’s American Bar Association Criminal Mock Trial National Champion team.

Michael is on the Board of Directors of Reconcile New Orleans, and the Enrichment Committee for Loyola University New Orleans.
