Brittany D. Heims

Brittany D. Heims serves as the Associate Director of the Portfolio Career Development Program in the College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans. She joined Loyola in Fall 2023 and previously served as the Career and Academic Advisor. In her current role, Brittany oversees the strategic direction and implementation of career readiness programming for undergraduate business students across all four years. She leads initiatives that promote professional development, mentorship, academic success, and experiential learning. Brittany also continues to serve as an academic advisor for all first-year students and a career coach for all undergraduate business majors.

Originally from Central Louisiana, Brittany holds two Master’s degrees from Northwestern State University, one in English Literature with a concentration in Southern and Folk Literature, and another in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Though new to New Orleans, she brings a deep understanding of higher education in the region. Prior to Loyola, Brittany supported first-generation college students at Xavier University of Louisiana as a Program Manager and CARE (Student Success) Coach for the university’s QEP Program, CARE. She also served as a First-Year Academic Advisor and First-Year Experience Instructor at the University of New Orleans for the College of Engineering.

Brittany is deeply committed to student engagement, development, and retention, particularly for first-year and historically underserved populations. Her professional background includes roles in academic advising, residence life, adjunct instruction, and student success at both community colleges and four-year institutions. She is passionate about fostering a student-centered environment where all learners can thrive and prepare for success beyond college.
