Dr. Maksim (Maks) Belitski is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and holds the Gerald N. Gaston Eminent Chair in Entrepreneurship at the College of Business, Loyola University New Orleans. He also serves as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Development  Strategies, Indiana University, US, a Professor of Entrepreneurship at ICD Business School, IGS Group, France and Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK. Previously, he held positions at institutions such as Brunel University West London,  Loughborough University, University College London and University of Bath in the UK, Indiana University in the US, Free University of Bolzano-Bozen in Italy, University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Vilnius Gediminas University in Lithuania.

He earned a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Leicester, UK, and another PhD in Economics from the University of Milan, Italy. Over the course of his career, Dr. Belitski has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading management and  entrepreneurship journals, including Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Research Policy, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of World Business, Small Business Economics, Journal of Technology Transfer and  R&D Management, among others.

His current research interests encompass:
• Product, process, service, and organizational innovation;
• The geographic influence on entrepreneurship and innovation;
• Financing mechanisms for entrepreneurship;
• Knowledge spillovers in innovation and entrepreneurship;
• Academic entrepreneurship and the commercialization of knowledge;
• Quantitative and qualitative analyses in innovation and entrepreneurship;
• Development of entrepreneurship ecosystems, associated policies, and measurements;
• The intersection of institutional economics and entrepreneurship;
• Sustainable behaviors and the sustainability aspects of entrepreneurship.

He serves as an Editor for the Small Business Economics Journal and is on the Editorial Review Board for the Entrepreneurship and Regional Development journal. He has forged collaborations with various UK businesses across a range of innovative sectors, delving into topics like innovation strategies, knowledge investments, R&D, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and knowledge transfers. He is also recognized as an external expert by research councils such as the Economic and Social Research  Consortium and the British Academy in the UK, as well as the Irish Research Council in Ireland.

Maks is recognized as a "Trusted" researcher and has been working with microfoundations data from the UK Secure Data Service and the Office of National Statistics, United Kingdom since 2011.
