Dean
Dr. Robert A. “Bobby” Savoie currently serves as the Dean of Loyola’s College of Business. Prior to this appointment he was Chief Science and Engineering Officer of Sev1Tech. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Geocent, an information technology and engineering services company headquartered in Metairie, Louisiana, until it was acquired by Sev1Tech on October 15, 2021. Sev1Tech is working with government and commercial clients throughout the U.S. and multiple countries in advanced Software Engineering/IT/DevSecOps, Engineering and Technology Services/Solutions, secure datacenter operation, C5ISR and Defense and Civilian Space, primarily in Defense, Aerospace and Homeland Security. Dr. Savoie currently serves on the boards of the University of New Orleans (UNO) Foundation; the LSU National Board; the LSU Health Foundation, Idea Village; and the Aerospace Alliance. He previously served as a director, trustee, and senior advisor for the Atlantic Council of the United States; National World War II Museum; Loyola University New Orleans; the Louisiana Technology Council; the Council for a Better Louisiana; the U.S. Small Business Technology Foundation; the Boy Scouts of America; and Greater New Orleans, Inc., amongst others.
In August 2004, after a 28-year career as an Engineer and CEO, Dr. Savoie returned to school to complete his doctorate in engineering and to devote more time to civic and humanitarian activities. Dr. Savoie previously founded Integrated Resources Group (IRG) in 1986 and served as CEO until IRG merged with Science & Engineering Associates (SEA) in 1997. Dr. Savoie became President and then CEO of SEA and guided the company through an extraordinary growth period during which the company transitioned from a small consulting firm to a $124 Million per year technology corporation with four subsidiaries and 14 offices in 10 states nationwide. Under Dr. Savoie's leadership, SEA's revenue grew 700% in five years.
While serving as a CEO of successively larger companies, Dr. Savoie continued his work as an engineer and consultant, primarily in nuclear power and defense. Most recently this has expanded to include NASA's next generation Space Launch System (SLS), large government information systems and numerous economic development activities.
