Cathy Griffin is a Master Black Belt for Headquarters, Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) New Orleans where she supports policy development, overall program deployment, and the implementation of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) at over 150 reserve sites.  Cathy is responsible for leading projects and providing training and mentoring to Marines, Sailors and civilians attached to the organization. 

Before becoming a Civilian Marine, Cathy spent six years working for the Department of the Navy at the Fleet Readiness Center East Cherry Point, NC.  Her focus began in Career Development and Total Force Strategy Management but through completion of Green Belt training her passion for CPI was born.  Upon receiving Black Belt training through General Electric, Cathy completed projects on a variety of processes which have allowed her to gain considerable experience in CPI tool methodologies.  Prior to accepting a position at MARFORRES, Cathy spent six years working for the Headquarters Marine Corps CPI Program Office where she was responsible for providing mentoring and project assistance to the CPI East Coast region.  Cathy has also served 9 years on active duty in the Marine Corps in the administrative field.

Cathy earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Park University as well as a master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Capella University.  She has also earned a Six Sigma Master Certificate through Villanova University.
